Red Bull has confirmed that Isack Hadjar will return to his seat for the Formula 1 Azerbaijan Grand Prix, after an stint on the sidelines caused by injury.
Hadjar has missed out on the last three races due to a wrist injury, forcing Red Bull to draft in Liam Lawson to replace him, with Yuki Tsuonda brought in to fill in Lawson’s vacant seat.
It has been a question of when, not if Hadjar would return to the cockpit, the Frenchman forced to watch on as Lawson created a more positive chapter at Red Bull following his disastrous stint at the team in 2025.
Red Bull has now confirmed via a statement that Hadjar will return this weekend in Baku, sending Lawson back to Racing Bulls, and Tsunoda off the grid once again.

“Red Bull Racing is delighted to welcome Isack back this weekend.
“Having made a successful recovery from his wrist injury, Isack will return to action at the Baku City Circuit on Thursday.”
“The team would like to sincerely thank Liam for his professionalism, dedication, and hard work over the past three races,” continued Red Bull’s statement.
“Stepping in under challenging circumstances, he delivered some impressive performances and made a valuable contribution to the team.
“We wish him all the best as he returns to Racing Bulls.”
Hadjar has had an extended period away from the cockpit, and returns to his seat at one of the most challenging circuits of the year.
With Lawson having made a compelling case during his brief tenure the pressure will be on the Frenchman to make a good impression on the streets of Baku.
