IMSA has released the entry list for the Roar Before the 24, the traditional test ahead of the season-opening Rolex 24 at Daytona.

A total of 40 cars has been entered for the test, which is scheduled for 3-5 January. The 40 cars are split between the four class, with eight in DPi, seven in LMP2, a further seven in GTLM and the majority of cars (18) in GTD. The entry list does not yet include driver line-ups.

Four Cadillac DPi-VR are listed for the test, with two from JDC-Miller Motorsports, one being the Mustang Sampling entry, one for Whelen Engineering Racing and one for Wayne Taylor Racing. They are joined by reiging champions Acura Team Penske with their pair of Acura ARX-05 and the two Mazda Team Joest-entered RT24-Ps.

LMP2 has the two full-season entries from the past season returning, joined by a number of new names. Performance Tech Motorsports and PR1 Mathiasen Motorsports return, with the latter expanding to two cars. This year's class winners Dragonspeed return, while Tower Motorsport by Starworks, Era Motorsport and Rick Ware Racing are new. All teams run ORECA 07s, with the sole exception of Rick Ware Racing, who enter a Multimatic/Riley chassis.

The GTLM ranks are filled with the usual suspects, but a number of new cars. Corvette Racing brings the new C8.R, while Porsche brings the new 911 RSR-19 to a North American track for the first time. They are joined by two BMW M8 GTEs from BMW Team RLL and a Ferrari 488 GTE for Risi Competizione.

GT Daytona sees a lot of familiar names, with a number of new teams as well. Heart of Racing and Aston Martin Racing both field an Aston Martin Vantage GT3, while Black Swan Racing fields a Porsche 911 GT3 R and Precision Performance Motorsports joins with a Lamborghini Huracan GT3 Evo.
