Liam Lawson will fill in for Isack Hadjar again at Monza

Isack Hadjar’s Formula 1 return has been placed on hold after Red Bull ruled him out of this weekend’s Italian Grand Prix, preferring to let his lingering wrist injury fully heal.

The 21-year-old sustained the injury in a workout accident ahead of the Dutch Grand Prix.

While Hadjar was present in the Zandvoort paddock wearing a protective sleeve, Red Bull Team Principal Laurent Mekies confirmed the team will take a conservative approach to protect the Frenchman’s long-term health.

Liam Lawson will stay behind the wheel of the RB22 alongside Max Verstappen following an impressive outing in the Netherlands.

Lawson capitalised on his unexpected call-up by driving a composed race to seventh, collecting six championship points.

Yuki Tsunoda also continues his fill-in drive at Racing Bulls, lining up beside rookie Arvid Lindblad after narrowly missing out on points at Zandvoort.

Monza’s aggressive curb strikes and violent heavy braking zones posed too great a risk for a prematurely rushed comeback.

By sticking with Lawson and Tsunoda, Red Bull preserves its track momentum while granting Hadjar additional time to recover ahead of the upcoming flyaway races.
