George Russell has announced his engagement to long-time girlfriend Carmen Montero Mundt.
The Mercedes driver shared the announcement of his engagement in an Instagram post in collaboration with his partner. The photos the pair shared captured Russell and Montero Mundt smiling broadly at a romantic, candlelit dinner by the sea. The pair kept the lovely post simple with a caption of two emojis: a ring and a white heart.
Fellow Formula 1 drivers and their partners were quick to give their congratulations to the pair under the post. Including teammate Andrea Kimi Antonelli, Alex Albon – and his fiancee Lily Muni He – Oscar Piastri and Charles Leclerc’s wife, Alexandra.
The couple were first introduced in 2020 by mutual friends and have been going strong since then. After six years of dating, the Briton popped the big question. Russell has long emphasised the importance of having Montero Mundt’s support when racing around the world.
The Spanish Montero Mundt regularly attends F1 Grand Prix weekends to support the Mercedes driver. When she is not in the F1 paddock, Montero Mundt works in finance for an investment company. Recently, she also launched a skin-care brand named Barriers.
