Cupra Kiro has confirmed it will remain a Formula E Porsche powertrain customer heading into the GEN4 era.
Cupra Kiro has made a major impact on Formula E since its arrival in Season 11, and is one of the more popular teams on the grid.
One of the smallest teams on the grid, the team has consistently punched well above its weight in terms of results and on-track exploits.
Dan Ticktum took a memorable maiden win at Jakarta in 2025, also securing two pole positions during its short tenure in the sport.
Known for its off-track social media exploits as well as its on-track achievements, it has carved out a unique identity within Formula E.
Cupra Kiro “excited” to continue Porsche relationship
Team Principal of Kiro Race Co Russell O’Hagan revealed his excitement at continuing the relationship.
“After the success we have already achieved since working together, we are delighted to confirm the extension of our partnership with Porsche Motorsport for GEN4″ he said in a statement.
“Given it’s been widely anticipated, we appreciate it comes as little surprise, yet the continuation of our collaboration is a hugely important moment for us as a team and business. Over the GEN3 era, Porsche has established itself as the benchmark for manufacturers in Formula E, and the milestones we have achieved together already in less than two seasons illustrates the strength of our collaboration.
” With GEN4 representing such a major technical evolution for Formula E, continuing with a trusted partner that combines best in class innovation, performance, and championship-winning expertise gives us the perfect foundation for the future. We’re very excited to improve upon what we have started together and can’t wait to see what further successes our relationship will hold.”
2026 has proven difficult for the team, Ticktum having failed to convert his two Monaco pole positions into victory, the team eighth place in the championship on 86 points.
The weekend was bittersweet for the team, as teammate Pepi Marti secured third, and secured another podium at last time out in Sanya.
If Cupra Kiro can harness the power of the Porsche powertrain, the future could be exciting indeed.
