Two major stories broke in Formula E this week, with the news that Porsche and Andretti are splitting, while Citroen has signed a Mercedes Formula 1 junior driver.

Porsche laid out its Formula E ambitions this week, as it confirmed it will no longer supply powertrains to Andretti from next season.

The deal has run from Season 9, Andretti enjoyed success with Porsche, winning the Drivers World Championship in their first year together.

In total the partnership has yielded four wins, 19 podiums and four pole positions, making its decision a headache for Andretti.

Porsche is widely expected to partner for Nissan for Season 13, as the sport prepares switch to the new GEN4 car.

A statement from Porsche on social read: “The end of an era. At the end of the season, Andretti Formula E will conclude its story as a Porsche customer team.

After an incredible journey together with @andrettife, our partnership will come to an end at the end of the current @fiaformulae season. Our collaboration has seen so much success, with the team winning the first World Championship for Porsche in the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship and playing a large role in helping Porsche secure the Season 11 Manufacturers’ World Championship title.

Citroen confirms Dorianne Pin as GEN4 Development Driver

Continuing to make their presence felt in the sport, Citroen Racing has confirmed reigning F1 Academy champion Dorianne Pin as its GEN4 development driver.

Her role, will see Pin immersed entirely in the GEN4 car, testing and refining ahead of the eagerly awaited debut of the new car in Season 13.

Excited about her appointment, Pin, said: “I’m really looking forward to this new role and to joining this project. Formula E is a rapidly growing championship, and it’s both exciting to watch and to drive. I’ve already started working on the GEN4 simulator with the team, which has been a great way of understanding the systems and the driving approach.

“As a French driver, it’s a special feeling to join Citroën. It’s a brand with a strong motorsport heritage, and being part of that story means a lot. I’m excited to get started and to build something together.”

Citroën Racing Formula E Team Principal, Cyril Blais, also praised his new signing: “Doriane is one of the most promising and complete young drivers we have seen in recent years. Beyond her results, she brings strong technical insight and a clear ability to translate feedback into performance gains, which is critical in Formula E where we have limited development time. Her involvement in the refinement of our GEN4 package will be extremely valuable as we prepare for the future of the championship. Just as importantly, having a talented young French driver join the team is a proud moment for all of us.”
