Pirelli has announced a big change ahead of the new Formula 1 season, as the Italian brand looks to make good on the sport’s new regulations era.
Mario Isola, the Director of Pirelli and its effective head of F1, is departing his role, with the season-opener in Melbourne just weeks away.
Isola has been the brand’s front and centre representative, having overseen the tyre supplier’s exclusive deal with F1 for the last decade, having originally began in 2011.
In a brief statement, Pirelli said: “The Company wishes to thank Mario Isola for the dedication and great passion with which he has contributed to the growth of the Motorsport business unit over the years.”

Dario Marrafuschi, the company’s current Head of Product and who has been involved with Pirelli since 2008, will replace Isola on March 1.
Pirelli’s current contract with Formula 1 is due to expire at the end of 2027.
