The opening morning of the second week of Formula 1 pre-season testing has begun, and it is Charles Leclerc who topped the timesheets.
On a hot morning in Bahrain, the Ferrari went fastest, clocking a 1:33.739s, after 70 laps logged.
The SF-26, with that final total, completed more tours of the circuit than any other car, indicating further confidence for the Scuderia that its package is reliable.
Lando Norris was second, three tenths shy off the Monegasque’s time, followed by Andrea Kimi Antonelli, a further tenth back.
Williams completed 55 laps, but Alex Albon’s fourth-place time was just under two seconds adrift of Leclerc’s lap.
Red Bull could only muster 13 laps with Isack Hadjar in the RB22, as it was afflicted by a technical issue.
