Ferrari makes key technical signing amid F1 backroom reshuffle

Ferrari is adding a new member of the technical staff to help the SF-26 reach its full potential

Ferrari has made a key signing to its technical roster ahead of the new Formula 1 season, in the form of Racing Bulls’ engineer Guillaume Dezoteux.

The Scuderia is preparing to tackle the new season – and the new regulations era – after a miserable and winless 2025 season, in which it finished fourth in the Constructors’ Championship.

Its SF-26 challenger is what it is pinning its hopes of rejuvenation on, with Charles Leclerc and Lewis Hamilton seeking to return to winning ways.

Hamilton is waiting on a new race engineer, after the team decided to move Riccardo Adami to the role of head of its TPC and Academy programmes.

The Brit had to settle to working with Leclerc’s engineer Bryan Bozzi during last week’s behind-closed-doors testing programme in Spain last week.

But moves are being made behind the scenes, with Dezoteux moving across Italy from Faenza to Maranello.

The Frenchman has been with the team for almost 20 years, much of the Red Bull satellite squad’s existence, and most recently served as its Head of Vehicle Performance.

It is thought Dezoteux will report to Matteo Togninalli, the team’s Head of Trackside Engineering, as part of the wider technical team led by Loic Serra, who oversaw much of the design of the new car.

Writing on his LinkedIn page, Dezoteux said: “Today is the end of my 18-year adventure with the Red Bull family—what a ride!

“I want to express my sincere gratitude to the team, and I’m wishing them all the best in the upcoming season with the new car and the brand-new power unit.”
