Cadillac is teasing the launch of its inaugural 2026 Formula 1 season at the Super Bowl with a visual “countdown” at Times Square in New York.

The American squad is readying itself for its debut F1 season, becoming the sport’s first 11th team in a decade.

Its platform is already strong, with experienced F1 stalwart Graeme Lowdon in place as Team Principal, and veterans Sergio Perez and Valtteri Bottas behind the wheel of its challenger.

Cadillac has been making steady progress in this week’s behind-closed-doors test in Barcelona, building up towards the crunch test in Bahrain in two weeks.

The Silverstone-based outfit has been running a special ‘camo’ livery in Barcelona, with the race livery set to be launched at Super Bowl LX’s half-time show, with an advertising space thought to be bought to the tune of several million.

But with excitement already building, the team has decided to increase the anticipation even further with the “Cadillac Countdown”, which it describes as a “striking, chrome-clad structure”.

The countdown will inhabit a replica of the car with the testing livery, and “boasts a frosted glass exterior that reveals only silhouettes and motion inside.”

Cadillac is F1’s first 11th team in a decade, and will be aided by the experience of Sergio Perez and Valtteri Bottas

It will be completed by a digital clock counting down to the big moment, and the frosted glass effect will ‘thaw’ once the contest between the New England Patriots and the Seattle Seahawks has concluded, revealing the livery in all its glory.

“The unveiling of a livery in Formula 1 is an important moment as it is a reflection of the team’s identity,” said Dan Towriss, the Cadillac team’s CEO. “The reveal at the Super Bowl and in Times Square represents both a launch moment and an invitation for fans to join in our journey. The Super Bowl spot will take the team into millions of homes, while the Cadillac Countdown will give a front-row view in one of the busiest areas in the US.”
