Honda has officially launched its brand-new 2026 power unit with Aston Martin as Formula 1 teams, and drivers prepare for a groundbreaking new era.

The partnership was announced in 2023, and since then, Aston Martin has undergone several key personnel changes.

Most importantly, the Silverstone-based team secured the well-sought-after services of Adrian Newey, who will lead the team as the sport enters the hybrid era.

Honda and Aston Martin kicked off their 2026 partnership through a YouTube livestream, allowing fans around the world to tune in.

The event featured Honda CEO Toshihiro Mibe, Formula 1 President and CEO Stefano Domenicali, and Aston Martin Executive Chairman Lawrence Stroll, who all celebrated the new alliance while discussing their ambitions for their debut season ahead.

At the centre of the event was Honda’s brand new power unit, the RA626H. Developed specifically for F1’s vast regulation changes, the engine reflects significant advances in Honda’s hybrid efficiency.
