Oliver Bearman has revealed he is in open talks with Ferrari as speculation over his Formula 1 future continues to grow ahead of the 2026 season.
A product of the Ferrari Driver Academy, his one-off appearance for Ferrari in Jeddah in 2024 raised eyebrows, with more eyes on Bearman for his full-time rookie season in 2025.
However, consistency proved to be a weakness for the Briton, as mistakes in early races threw away potential for point-scoring finishes.
Improving in the second of the year, he ended the season in 13th, securing a spectacular fourth place in Mexico City after a race-long battle with title challenger Oscar Piastri.
Bearman said he is openly in discussions with Ferrari about his experiences in 2025, hinting that more than just driving advice is taking place.
With a potential Ferrari seat available in 2027, should Lewis Hamilton endure another challenging season, he confirmed he focused on his performances as well as the future.
“We catch up from time to time, talking about challenges that I’m facing in my season of F1,” he confirmed to media including Motorsport Week.
“It’s just an open dialogue, really. I like to make it clear what’s going on on my side, because it’s easy to see just the result on paper – but that doesn’t always tell the full story.
“There’s often a lot more to it. But regarding my future, [there is] no conversation. I just drive the car. I think the rest will sort itself out if I perform at a good level.”

Bearman has revealed he gets communication from Ferrari over where he needs to improve his driving.
“No positive or negative feedback,” he revealed. “Like I said, it’s an open discussion. We talk about what challenges I face.
“Also, the future, the [new] regulations are important. I have the same engine as what they will have.
“There’s been moments where they wanted me to improve on certain aspects.
“But for me, it was always going to be the case that I improve in these aspects, because my experience level is going up and I naturally get better over time.”
