Lewis Hamilton has shown defiance in his perceived attitude towards F1 after his nightmarish first season with Ferrari driver

Lewis Hamilton has defiantly claimed “I still have a dream” to be successful in Formula 1 again, despite experiencing a torrid debut season with Ferrari.

Hamilton failed to finish on the podium for the first time in his career in 2025, becoming only the seventh man to also fail to finish on the podium throughout a season for the Scuderia.

His Sprint win in China was followed by a myriad of disappointments, culminating in a string of late-season Q1 exits in qualifying.

The SF-25 car has left Hamilton frequently frustrated and withdrawn in many media sessions across the year, admitting in one of his final ones to feelings of “rage and anger”.

But the Briton insisted that his naysayers are not worthy of extracting a proper response from him, and sent a clear and firm message to them.

“I wouldn’t say anything to them,” he told media including Motorsport Week. “None of them have done what I’ve done, so they’re not even on my level.”

Despite conveying a sense of hopelessness in 2025, Hamilton reiterated that his “love for racing” has not deserted him, and the support he has worldwide is the fuel that keeps the fire in his belly burning strongly.

“It’s the love for what you do, it’s the love for racing,” he said. “I’ve got amazing support from people around me, my fans.

“It’s that constant keeping an eye on the dream. I still have a dream that I hold hope in my heart for and that’s what I work towards.”

Hamilton quipped that there is only one downside about F1 that he is looking forward to ditching once the 40-year-old hangs up his helmet for good.

“I can’t wait to get away from all this. Every week, photoshoots and all that kind of stuff,” he explained. “That’s the thing I look forward to one day, not having to do it all.”
