Pramac Yamaha Team Manager Gino Borsoi revealed that he was “quite surprised” by Toprak Razgatlioglu following his first official MotoGP test.

Three-time WorldSBK champion Razgatlioglu made the switch to MotoGP for the 2026 season, signing with Pramac Yamaha.

The Turkish rider took part in his first official MotoGP test in Valencia following the 2025 season finale, after numerous private outings ahead of his debut.

Razgatlioglu showcased quick adaptation and finished the Valencia test in 18th, ahead of future team-mate Jack Miller and current factory Yamaha rider Alex Rins.

Borsoi admitted he was “surprised” by Razgatligolu in Valencia, and was delighted with his early understanding of the MotoGP bike.

“Toprak, I’m quite surprised by,” Borsoi said via Crash.net.

“I’m impressed by his mindset and his riding style. We all know that he is incredible in the braking points but he showed today that he is able to change his riding style in quick time.

“He gave us some tips, and he is able to learn really fast, so I’m happy.

“He’s a really kind guy, I’m surprised because he’s easy to talk to. For me right now, it’s not difficult to have a discussion, to have an exchange of points of views, so I’m surprised about that.”

Borsoi also revealed he had told Razgatlioglu to be aware of braking, which is traditionally one of his strengths.

Razgatlioglu will have to adapt from the Pirelli tyres in WorldSBK to the Michelins used in MotoGP, but Borsoi suggested the Turkish rider is already showing an understanding of the differences.

“From all of us at the beginning we were aware of his style,” Borsoi said.

“We said several times ‘please try not to brake so hard, please try to understand the front tyre’ because of course the difference on the tyres are huge. But he understood from the beginning really quickly and he adapted super fast.

“He didn’t push any laps, so this is something good for us because we didn’t see his real pace, but we saw his character, his ways of working and he’s already good for our MotoGP style.”
