Aruba.it Racing – Ducati has confirmed that Iker Lecuona has signed a two-year contract extension to remain with the team in WorldSBK.
Lecuona joined the factory Ducati team for the 2026 season after four years with Honda, replacing two-time World Champion Alvaro Bautista in red.
The Spaniard has been a steady partner to Nicolo Bulega in the Ducati team, currently sitting in second in the standings and with the teams’ and manufacturers’ championships already secured.
Lecuona also won his first race in the series with Ducati in Race 1 at Donington Park, and is set to lead the team over the next two seasons given Bulega’s likely departure to MotoGP.
“I am really happy,” Lecuona said in a press release. “I have already said several times how my life has completely changed since I joined this great family.
“For this reason, renewing my contract with Aruba.it Racing – Ducati is deeply satisfying. I want to thank Aruba and Ducati for giving me this new opportunity.
“It is great to think about a future together, but the most important thing now is to finish this season in the best possible way, trying to enjoy ourselves, keep improving our performance and, above all, achieve increasingly important results.”
