Lucas di Grassi has hailed his and Audi Sport Abt Schaeffler's victory at last weekend's Berlin E-Prix, with the German marque taking a second consecutive win at the Flughafen Tempelhof Circuit.

Di Grassi started the 10th race of the season from third on the grid, however, quickly progressed through the field, overtaking HWA Racelab's Stoffel Vandoorne four minutes after the race start before later clearing polesitter and race leader Sebastien Buemi into Turn 6.

Remaining unchallenged, di Grassi took the chequered flag at the end of 45-minutes + 1 lap of running to become Formula E's second repeat winner of Season 5 after previously standing on the step of the podium in Mexico City.

Reflecting on his race, di Grassi praised the efficiency of his Audi e-Tron FE05 car, hailing the squad's second consecutive victory in Berlin in difficult racing conditions:

"I started third and at the beginning of the race I managed to overtake Stoffel [Vandoorne] and then a few laps later I managed to overtake Seb [Buemi].," the Season 3 champion told Motorsport Week.

"I think I had a very energy efficient car with good balance. We chose the right set-up. We did a fantastic race.

"In the race there was a lot of energy consumption, a little bit of tyre wear also because the surface is very tough on the tyre. We managed to do it properly.

"To win here though in front of the home crowd, Schaeffler and everybody, it was just unbelievable again. I’ve been on the podium every single time here now since the first race in the Berlin in Season 1."

By winning in Berlin, di Grassi re-ignited his title aspirations, moving into second place in the Drivers' Championship with 96 points, six points behind DS Techeetah's Jean-Eric Vergne who sits on top with 102.

With di Grassi's team-mate Daniel Abt taking sixth in Berlin, Audi also overtook customer team Envision Virgin Racing in the Teams' Standings with 163 points, trailing DS Techeetah by 25 with three races remaining.

The ABB FIA Formula E Championship's 2018/19 campaign will continue on June 22 for the inaugural Bern E-Prix which will mark the final European round of the season ahead of July's New York finale.
