Nashville Superspeedway was the site of IndyCar’s season finale on Sunday, with drivers completing 225 laps around the 1.33-mile course.

Josef Newgarden successfully broke his curse by taking victory, moving into the top spot near the end of the event and earning a custom guitar trophy in the process.

Alex Palou was second across the line, followed by Scott McLaughlin in third. The Kiwi looked set to take victory for himself until a late mistake saw him bounce off the wall and lose a couple positions.

Multiple incidents affected the outcome of the event, including Pato O’Ward who crashed into the wall from the lead after his right front tire failed at speed. Alex Palou also had a tire failure, but he was luckily able to bring his car to pit lane without crashing.

David Malukas also had an incident, tangling with Louis Foster on track. Malukas hit the wall hard and was seen climbing from the car gingerly. He was airlifted to a nearly hospital for precautionary checks.

The series’ long offseason now begins, with nearly six months until the 2026 season begins.
