Ed Carpenter Racing announced on Tuesday that it will begin building a new headquarters and race shop just North of Indianapolis in Westfield, Indiana.

The new facility will have 76,000 square feet (7,060 m2) and will house the team’s engineering, development, and general racing operations.

The site will also feature a public viewing area and merchandise store, making for a complete experience surrounding the core operational aspects.

ECR’s building is part of the Grand Park District Master Plan, which will expand an already thriving area.

“We are very excited about this project and how it will impact the growth of ECR into the future,” said ECR owner Ed Carpenter.

“The opportunity to build a world-class facility within Grand Park was something we could not pass up. The demographic of Grand Park and its annual visitors is not only a great opportunity for our team to reach new fans, but also a great opportunity for IndyCar itself as we continue to capitalize on the current momentum of our sport.

“We are very focused on building a unique and best-in-class facility that will support our team and also showcase our brand to visitors each and every day.”

ECR has been expanding its business presence in recent years, including bringing on a new co-owner Ted Gelov ahead of the 2025 season.

Gelov is the owner of the parent company of Java House and Splenda, which has led to the sponsorship deal on the cars this season.

The companies also based out of the same area as the planned headquarters, which further brings together the business side of operations.

Groundbreaking on the new facility is scheduled to take place in early 2026, with operations moving in early 2027.
