Marc Marquez showcased his dominance around the Sachsenring as he topped the final rain-affected practice session at the German MotoGP round.
The rain started falling as the session began, forcing the riders onto the wet-weather tyres ahead of qualifying.
However, the changing conditions could not stop Marquez’s momentum around the Sachsenring circuit as he set a time of 1:28.277 to top the final practice session.
Tech3 KTM’s Maverick Vinales took second in the last session before qualifying, as factory rider Pedro Acosta completed the top three.
Pramac Yamaha’s Jack Miller showcased his abilities in the wet in fourth ahead of Gresini’s Alex Marquez in fifth.
Franco Morbidelli ended the session in sixth, with Brad Binder in seventh and Johann Zarco in eighth less than a tenth behind the Italian.
Marco Bezzecchi was ninth for Aprilia ahead of the returning Luca Marini, who completed the top 10.
Gresini’s Fermin Aldeguer took the flag in 11th, as Fabio Di Giannantonio finished 12th for VR46.
Francesco Bagnaia was 13th at the end of the session, with a frustrated Fabio Quartararo finishing 14th.
Joan Mir completed the final practice in 15th as Miguel Oliveira set his best time for 16th.
Yamaha’s Alex Rins ended his session in 17th ahead of Trackhouse rider Raul Fernandez in 18th.
Lorenzo Savadori was 19th, as Ai Ogura completed the standings in 20th.
