Mercedes’ George Russell clinches pole position for the 2025 Formula 1 Canadian Grand Prix ahead of the Red Bull of Max Verstappen.

The British driver set a lap time of 1:10.899s to snatch pole from Verstappen right at the death.

Oscar Piastri qualified third for McLaren with the other Mercedes of Andrea Kimi Antonelli joining him on the second row in fourth.

The Ferrari of Lewis Hamilton finished the session in fifth, Fernando Alonso sixth for Aston Martin.

McLaren’s Lando Norris ended the session in seventh ahead of Charles Leclerc in eighth for Ferrari.

Isack Hadjar finished ninth for Racing Bulls and Alex Albon rounded off the top 10 in his Williams car.
