Max Verstappen clocked the quickest time in the opening practice session at the 2025 Formula 1 Canadian Grand Prix.

The Dutchman edged the two Williams drivers, Alex Albon heading Carlos Sainz. George Russell was next up in the Mercedes.

Lewis Hamilton completed the top five in the sole Ferrari to see out the session as team-mate Charles Leclerc crashed his SF-25.
