McLaren has announced their collaboration with United Autosports for their Hypercar programme in the 2027 FIA World Endurance Championship.
McLaren Racing has confirmed its partnership with the multiple championship-winning team.
In doing so, they will join the ultra-competitive era of Hypercar racing.
They won the race 30 years ago with their McLaren F1 GTR and J.J. Lehto, Yannick Dalmas, and Masanori Sekiya.
Zak Brown, CEO of McLaren Racing, co-owns United Autosports with former racing driver Richard Dean.
Double Le Mans winners United undertake their first top-class effort with Dallara as Hypercar chassis supplier, and ex-McLaren Formula E team principal James Barclay will hold that role in McLaren’s Hypercar operation.
Brown said: “McLaren Racing’s return to the FIA World Endurance Championship marks the beginning of a new and exciting chapter for us, and James’ leadership will be crucial in guiding us through the coming months as we prepare for our 2027 entry.
