Lewis Hamilton liked, then swiftly unliked, an Instagram post which criticised Ferrari’s current Formula 1 car and the team’s supposed lack of strategic nous.

A myriad of struggles have currently plagued the seven-time World Champion’s start to his tenure with the Scuderia, the only highlight so far being his victory in the China Sprint Race.

Since then, Hamilton has struggled to get to grips with the SF-25, a car which possesses a number of flaws, which sees him sit in a modest sixth place in the Drivers’ Championship.

As well as inability to sufficiently tackle the car, Hamilton has also been at the centre of speculation regarding his relationship with new race engineer Riccardo Adami.

Many have interpreted exchanges of radio messages between the pair in such a way that it is now thought the pair are not the closest of colleagues.

And the liking of the post, no matter how quickly it was unliked, will further exacerbate the thought that Hamilton might be regretting his move to Maranello.

The post in question read: “There’s a deep sense of disappointment watching Lewis Hamilton’s transition to Ferrari unfold this season.

“While the hope for his historic 8th World Championship remains alive, the reality is increasingly difficult to ignore. The partnership, though iconic on paper, has so far failed to deliver on track.

“Ferrari’s current car package lacks the consistency and pace Lewis needs. Beyond technical issues, there appears to be a growing disconnect – from strategy calls to team communication. It’s also clear that cultural differences may be playing a role; Lewis, a seasoned British driver, now operates in an environment dominated by Italian structure and style – and that adaptation hasn’t been smooth.

“So far, his only podium came in a Sprint Race. Since then, it’s been a slide back into the midfield, most notably finishing P8 – far from where a seven-time World Champion belongs.

“As fans, we still believe in his ability to make history. But this season proves: legacy alone doesn’t win races — performance and synergy do.”

Can Hamilton bounce back in Montreal?

This weekend’s Canadian Grand Prix is an event Hamilton enjoys and one that he has been successful at on multiple occasions.

It was the scene for his first-ever F1 win back in 2007, and he has subsequently gone on to win a further six times on the Circuit Gilles-Villeneuve.

A fortuitous podium for team-mate Charles Leclerc masked some of Ferrari’s issues in Spain, with Hamilton overtaken late on by the Sauber of Nico Hulkenberg.

Hamilton has already stated that he will encourage the team to work harder on its 2026 car should little progress be made on the SF-25.

It is thought that upgrades to its troublesome rear suspension and floor will be introduced soon, and Hamilton will hope that this will be the turning point to enable him to at least perform a damage limitation job on what has so far been a tricky debut season with the team.

I’m not sure Lewis is really thinking he’ll get another championship at Ferrari, I think he just wanted the experience of being there, but he must be disappointed the car has been 4th quickest and that’ll be what he agreed with in the post. Anyway at 40 everybody is slowing down, it’s just natural and he brings his character to Ferrari, as per this article and him liking a post or not is actually news!
