Heart of Racing driver Zacharie Robichon told Motorsport Week of his keenness for LMGT3 victory after qualifying sixth for the 6 Hours of Spa.

After qualifying, the #27 Aston Martin Vantage LMGT3 Evo driver said:

“In these races, you can win from anywhere in the top five, top 10, as has been shown, and even outside the top 10, you can win.

“So I’m relatively happy with that.

“From my side, it wasn’t my best – wasn’t my worst – kind of right in the middle.

“We can be happy with that, and we know a very good direction to go for the race, based on what we learned and what they had on the sister car too, so I’m super happy for the #10 [Racing Spirit of LeMan in] P2.

“Good for Aston and good for the team.”

The 32-year-old Canadian has driven for Heart of Racing in the IMSA SportsCar Championship since 2024.

Heart of Racing has one WEC victory so far after they took pole position at last year’s Lone Star Le Mans at COTA.

Despite starting behind the #10 sibling Aston Martin, Heart of Racing remain determined to claim a second win after their race at Imola ended prematurely in a collision.

“On the new asphalt, the grip stays pretty well through a stint,” he added.

“But you still have Pouhon and Piff-Paff that have the old asphalt.

“And arguably those are the corners that are the hardest on the tyres, so you still kind of have a little bit of a grating sandpaper effect on the tyres.

“So the degradation is quite big. And then you often kind of find yourself hanging on for a few corners at the end of a double stint.”
