McLaren is set to go with Puma as the team's apparel supplier from 2026

McLaren will end a partnership with Castore and switch to Puma as the team’s apparel provider ahead of the 2026 Formula 1 season, according to reports.

The current deal with Castore, which began in 2022 and was originally due to run for five years, is now poised to conclude at the end of the 2025 campaign.

McLaren’s reported new agreement with Puma is understood to be a multi-year deal and will cover both team apparel and fan merchandise.

No official reason has been provided for the premature split, though the decision marks a significant shift in McLaren’s commercial direction.

Puma already supplies teamwear to several teams in the paddock, including Ferrari and Williams and is now set to add McLaren to its expanding roster.

However, technical racewear for McLaren drivers, including fireproof suits and gloves, will continue to be produced by existing supplier Alpinestars.

The Puma deal is suspected to be focused solely on off-track and branded apparel worn by team members and sold to fans globally across the world.

Castore closing on McLaren replacement

Castore, meanwhile, is expected to replace McLaren with a new partnership with Haas to add to the existing agreements that it harbours with Alpine and Red Bull.

The company has faced criticism over product quality and availability, with some high-profile agreements – including with Aston Villa Football Club – ending earlier than planned.

McLaren’s impending switch to Puma comes amid a strong run of form on track as the Woking-based squad currently leads the Constructors’ Championship.

Meanwhile, Oscar Piastri heads team-mate Lando Norris in the Drivers’ standings, ensuring that McLaren is on track to achieve an elusive title double this season.

Sources close to the deal suggest the Puma partnership is aimed at “expanding McLaren’s global merchandising footprint, offering improved design, product range and retail access.”

The new Puma-branded McLaren collection is expected to be unveiled ahead of the 2026 season, which will coincide with sweeping regulation changes in the sport.
