With pre-season testing in Bahrain fast approaching, Motorsport Week takes a look at the best liveries on the 2025 Formula 1 grid this season.

All 10 liveries were showcased last week during the F1 75 live event at London’s O2 arena, with top teams such as Red Bull and McLaren changing very little with the design of the cars.

Racing Bulls provided the biggest shock as the team has chosen to sport a revamped white livery for 2025.

As the new season fast approaches, Motorsport Week ranks the 2025 liveries from the very worst to the absolute best.

10. Alpine

After last year’s carbon-heavy design, Alpine has introduced a darker shade of blue on the 2025 livery, shown on the sides, accompanied by pink which runs from the monocoque down to the nose.

There is a strong presence from new sponsor Enim its official energy and fuel partner.

A very colourful design, the livery displayed on the A525 certainly catches the eye, but for all the wrong reasons.

Alpine grabs last place for me as the team has leaned into its pink and blue colour scheme too much for my liking.

The pink BWT logo on the blue bodywork doesn’t look right as the team has strayed too far away from its subtle appearance of 2024.

9. Sauber

The design of the car comprises an evolution of the carbon and fluorescent green colour scheme that debuted in 2024, the first season of Sauber’s title partnership with Stake.

For this season’s design, the fluorescent green is apparent on the monocoque and nosecone, with black on the sidepods.

Not a lot has changed for the design of the C45, the main difference being the way the carbon and fluorescent green mix together.

The fluoro does appear to be lighter which makes this year’s design worse in my opinion, leaving the Swiss outfit ninth on this list.

8. Williams

The FW47 livery incorporates the traditional navy blue of Williams on the front of the car with its new title partner Atlassian’s signature blue featuring on the engine cover.

The 2025 Williams challenger also boasts the logo of Santander following a multi-year partnership and brings back the branding of renewed partners Duracell, Gulf Oil and Kraken.

The gradient mix of navy blue with a brighter blue is a step back on last year’s livery in my view.

It’s not the worst design on this list but it feels like the Grove-based outfit could have done more, especially with the introduction of a historic title partnership.

7.) McLaren

If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.

McLaren has retained the same livery on its 2025 F1 car, the MCL39, as the team’s championship-winning predecessor.

The Woking-based squad became the debut side to conduct a shakedown with its 2025 machine at Silverstone last week, running the car in a striking camo design.

However, the team has decided to repeat last season’s design, as is tradition with the Papaya squad after winning a championship.

But, I like to see the teams change the design each year – offer something new and striking from the previous campaign.

The papaya colour scheme is great but I’ve never been a fan of the black camo on the engine cover.

6. Red Bull

Another team that decided not to change its design, Red Bull has used the same livery for countless years.

Max Verstappen hinted that he hoped Red Bull would tweak the unchanged livery with a matte finish that it has used since 2016, when he was promoted to the senior team.

However, the Milton Keynes-based squad has retained an unchanged design, with the sole change being new partner Gate.io’s logo plastered on the rear wing having replaced ByBiT.

As previously stated, changed designs are far more appealing in my opinion.

Yet it ranks just above the McLaren simply because the existing design is more iconic.

The blue, red and yellow colour scheme that represents the Red Bull logo has become a familiar sight on the track.

5. Haas

The American outfit grabs a top-five finish in Motorsport Week’s rankings.

The design scheme is the revised one that was leaked in a shakedown at Silverstone over the weekend, comprising the team’s traditional colours of black, red and white.

The VF-25 contains more white than its predecessor with it being the predominant colour on the monocoque and nose cone, while also extending along to the sidepods.

The decision to go for a lighter-looking car was a good one for me, as the balance of the contrasting colours works well.

Last year’s livery was a bit too dark as the white makes it stand out more but in a subtle way.

4. Aston Martin

The Silverstone-based squad’s latest design scheme comprises the team’s traditional British Racing Green with more exposed carbon on the sidepod area.

A clean and menacing design, added to the famed green colour scheme makes this year’s design an easy winner.

It’s hard for Aston Martin to go wrong with its livery in 2025, as the team were never going to stray away from its traditional colours.

However, the addition of the new sponsor Maaden on the air box is a nice touch that certainly adds a unique finishing touch to the AMR25.

It just misses out on a podium, unfortunately.

3. Mercedes

Securing the final podium position on this list, Mercedes has stuck with its traditional colour scheme of black and silver mixed with the turquoise Petronas branded stripes.

The gradient between black and silver is more profound this year as Mercedes has gone with a similar livery design to that of 2024.

Whilst the INEOS red was missing from the 2025 Mercedes F1 challenger, the W16 is as spectacular as ever.

The silver and turquoise blend at the front of the car has always been a big appeal.

Despite the limited changes, it is hard for me to dislike much on this year’s design.

2.) Ferrari

Everyone expected big things from the Scuderia, especially with the arrival of the seven-time World Champion Lewis Hamilton.

But the Prancing Horse just misses out on the top spot in this list.

Ferrari has adopted a darker red as the base colour compared to previous seasons, with white taking on an increased presence to better incorporate title sponsor HP’s logo.

The focus on making the HP logo work on the design ruins what could have been a winner for the best livery.

The red as always is stunning, and for me, that does take your eyes away from the heavy inclusion of white slapped across the livery.

1. Racing Bulls

Motorsport Week’s best F1 livery design of 2025 goes to the Racing Bulls.

The livery evolves the white and blue colour scheme launched last season with title-partners Visa and Cash App taking centre stage.

This year’s version is an all-white colour scheme with the Red Bull yellow and red logo present on the car as well.

Similar to the one-off livery first sported by the Austrian team in Turkey back in 2021, the VCARB 02 presents itself well.
