The FIA has released the entry list for the 2025 Formula 1 season and RB has changed its name to Visa Cash App Racing Bulls for next season.

Whilst it was anticipated there would be a name change, the entry list confirms RB as Visa Cash App Racing Bulls – or VCARB for short.

There was a lot of confusion surrounding the team’s name this year, so the new identity of the Faenza-based outfit gives itself a clear identity heading into 2025.

More importantly, there was space left as TBC (to be confirmed) next to Yuki Tsunoda for the Racing Bulls as Liam Lawson’s future remains uncertain as to whether he will be with the team, or promoted to Red Bull, next season.

Lawson replaced Daniel Ricciardo at the United States Grand Prix and has been auditioning for a slot on the 2025 grid ever since – as it seems his performances will earn him a seat for next season.

Where the New Zealand racing driver ends up relies on Red Bull’s decision on what to do with Sergio Perez, who has struggled to perform in 2024.

Perez finished a staggering 285 points behind his team-mate, and World Champion, Max Verstappen as the Mexican driver experienced multiple issues with the stability of the Red Bull car.

It is believed that Perez will be replaced by Lawson, but Tsunoda is not out of the running yet after he drove the RB20 in the Abu Dhabi post-season test.

With Perez expected to leave, a seat could be made available at Racing Bulls which could open the door for Franco Colapinto – who has been linked with a switch to the Red Bull family previously.

In terms of the racing number choices for the 2025 season, the reigning Formula 2 champion, Gabriel Bortoleto, has chosen the number five as he races for Sauber next year – the racing number of the retired four-time F1 champion Sebastian Vettel.

After racing with the number 61 on his car in Abu Dhabi, Jack Doohan took the number seven, which was famously the number of the 2007 F1 World Champion Kimi Raikkonen.

Elsewhere, Oliver Bearman will race with the number 87, after racing with the number 50 for Haas and 38 for Ferrari in 2024.

Rookie Andrea Kimi Antonelli will race with the number 12, which he used for Mercedes during practice sessions this season.

Verstappen will keep the number one as the reigning World Champion and Lewis Hamilton will race with the iconic number 44 in red for Ferrari in 2025.
