Sergio Perez in the other Red Bull rounded off the top 10 and only made it through to Q1 after his initial deleted lap time was reinstated.

Lewis Hamilton was knocked out in Q1 in his final-ever qualifying session for Mercedes in 18th place.

Leclerc will start 19th on Sunday due to his 10-place grid penalty after the team was forced to use a new Energy Store, exceeding the limit of two allowed throughout a season.
