Red Bull has revealed that the appeal made by an unnamed employee against an investigation that cleared Team Principal Christian Horner of alleged misconduct has not been upheld.
As the 2024 Formula 1 season was set to get underway, Red Bull was rocked by allegations made against Horner by an unnamed female employee over suggested misconduct.
An independent King’s Counsel carried out an independent investigation and after eight weeks, Horner was cleared of any wrongdoing.
Amid the investigation, Horner was continually probed by the media regarding the nature of the proceedings and he remained committed to keeping the process private, simultaneously denying any claims of wrongdoing.
Meanwhile, the likes of Jos Verstappen claimed his continued tenure as Red Bull boss in the wake of the investigation could cause rifts in the team.
Following the findings of the investigation, the female employee involved was then suspended following the investigation but given the right to appeal its findings and that appeal was duly lodged.
Now, after a separate investigation from a different King’s Counsel, the appeal has not been upheld, once again clearing Horner of any wrongdoing.
“Earlier this year a complaint raised against Christian Horner was investigated,” a statement read.
“The complaint was dealt with through the company’s grievance procedure by the appointment of an independent KC who dismissed the grievance.
“The complainant exercised the right to appeal, and the appeal was carried out by another independent KC.
“All stages of the appeal process have now been concluded, with the final outcome that the appeal is not being upheld.
“The KC’s conclusions have been accepted and adopted by Red Bull. The internal process has concluded.
“The company respects the privacy of all its employees and will not be making further public comment on this matter at this time.
“Red Bull is committed to continuing to meet the highest workplace standards.”
