After the official unveiling of its G60-LT-P1 prototype last week, Ginetta has unleashed the car that privateer outfit TRS Manor will use in the 2018/19 FIA WEC Super Season.
The soaked tarmac of Leeds East Airport was the perfect stage for Ginetta Factory Driver Mike Simpson to make the 3.4 litre turbocharged Mecachrome engine of the latest LMP1 class contender roar. This first closed test served as an opportunity for the British manufacturer to showcase its first ever Le Mans top class machinery in front of their inhouse development team, representatives from their customer team TRS Manor and the whole world.
Ewan Baldry, Ginetta’s Technical Director, described the shakedown as “a proud moment for all of us” and expressed his delight that the team can move on to the fine-tuning stages of development prior to the G60-LT-P1’s first race, the 2018 6 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps. “We’re very excited by what lies ahead for our customers,” concluded Baldry.
