Max Verstappen blossomed at Suzuka, bouncing back from a DNF in Australia to deliver a Red Bull one-two alongside team-mate Sergio Perez in dominant fashion.

The ever-exuberant Japanese Grand Prix fans brought energy to F1 proceedings as the race was held in Spring for the first time and Yuki Tsunoda rewarded the home crowd with a points finish. Elsewhere, there was an early exit for Daniel Ricciardo and Alex Albon, a well-executed strategy by Ferrari and an underwhelming performance by Mercedes.
