The Jaguar TCS Racing duo of Mitch Evans and Nick Cassidy shone in the opening practice session for this weekend’s Sao Paulo E-Prix.

The early stages of the session were briefly topped by the Avalanche Andrettis of reigning World Champion Jake Dennis and Norman Nato, with Cassidy languishing towards the bottom of the timesheets for much of the session.

Evans looked strong throughout, and ultimately topped the session with a time of 1:12:555. Cassidy rallied in a big way late on and made it a Jaguar one-two with a fastest personal time of 1:12:776.

The Mahindra Racing #48 of Edoardo Mortara took a surprise third, half-a-second off Evans’ time. Another impressive result was the ERT of Dan Ticktum, finishing fourth with a time of 1:13:179.
