Red Bull reveals RB20 to conclude 2024 F1 launch season

Red Bull has become the final team to reveal its 2024 Formula 1 car – the RB20 that it hopes will witness it retain both championships once again this campaign.

Red Bull has thrashed the competition since F1 returned to ground effect aero in 2022, winning 39 out of 44 races to secure successive championship doubles.

The Austrian outfit extended its competitive advantage last term to storm to a record-breaking 21 victories from 22 rounds, claiming the title with six rounds to spare.

Max Verstappen claimed 19 of those – including an unprecedented 10 in a row between Miami and Monza – as he became F1’s 11th driver to achieve a third crown.

The Dutchman will be partnered for a fourth season by Sergio Perez, who is out of contract at the end of this year and is aiming to rebound from a tough campaign.

Perez began the season encouragingly with two wins from the opening four races but failed to add to that tally and trailed a seismic 290 points behind his team-mate.

Red Bull boss Christian Horner confirmed at the end of last season that the team was adopting a process of evolution with the successor to the all-conquering RB19.

The RB20 had been spotted conducting a shakedown at Silverstone prior to the launch at its Milton Keynes base, with Perez and Verstappen sharing driving duties.

“This is a momentous year in the Team’s history,” Horner said. “Over the past 20 years, Red Bull has succeeded in changing the landscape of Formula One and it has done it by being determined to do things differently, by being committed to playing hard and racing even harder and by being utterly focused on competing for the biggest prizes in the sport.

“We’ve been lucky enough to do that on multiple occasions and seven Drivers’ titles, six Constructors’ Championship wins and 113 race victories to date demonstrate the success of Red Bull’s vision for the Team.

“The latest chapter of that story starts today with the RB20. It’s going to a thrilling and hugely competitive season but as we saw last year, this is a team operating at the peak of its powers and in Max and Checo we have two drivers who can deliver at every circuit, in any conditions, so I’m confident that, just as we have done for the past 20 years, we can compete for podiums, wins and hopefully more championships.”
