F1 Academy announced Monday that the top five classified drivers in the Championship standings will earn FIA Super License Points in 2024.

The all-female single-seater series made its debut last year and is designed to help female motorsport athletes build a strong foundation on the formula racing ladder.

In 2024, the F1 Academy Champion will earn 10 Super License Points, second place will earn seven points and third place will earn five points.

Fourth and fifth place in the Drivers’ standings will earn three points and one point respectively.

The series also announced further developments to encourage new female drivers to take part in single-seater racing.

At select venues in 2024, F1 Academy will allow Wild Card entry from the host region, with PREMA running and coaching the selected driver throughout the race weekend in addition to hosting its three permanent drivers, Tina Hausmann, Doriane Pin and Maya Weug.

As well as this, the Sporting Regulations for F1 Academy have been updated, mandating that drivers can only compete in two seasons, to allow for a new generation of talent a greater opportunity to take part in future seasons.

“After a positive inaugural season we are making two significant steps forward for 2024,” said F1 Academy Managing Director Susie Wolff.

“Our top five drivers receiving FIA Super Licence points is testament to the strength of F1 Academy’s on track proposition and will help fuel their progression as they move up the single seater pyramid.

“The introduction of the Wild Card entrants will promote regional talent, engage with local communities, and increase the talent pool in the regions in which we race which will be important for our long-term growth and ensure we are creating even more opportunities for women to get involved in our sport.”

F1 Academy drivers have been in the spotlight this week as they prepare for the 2024 campaign.

Pin, a Mercedes Junior Driver has been campaigning with PREMA in the Formula 4 UAE Series and achieved her first pole position at the Yas Marina Circuit on Saturday and Williams Academy Driver Lia Block is campaigning her first Formula 4 event this weekend in Jerez with GRS in the Formula Winter Series.

Joining Block in the opening round of Formula Winter Series action this weekend are fellow F1 Academy drivers Carrie Schreiner and Bianca Bustamante.

Meanwhile, Visa Cash App RB F1 Academy representee Amna Al Qubaisi was present at the Formula 1 team’s 2024 car launch in Las Vegas on Thursday night.
