Former Audi LMP1 driver Oliver Jarvis will return to the World Endurance Championship this year after committing to a full-season deal with LMP2 squad Jackie Chan DC Racing.
The 33-year-old Briton finished second in the 2016 WEC drivers' standings, claiming victory in Audi's final race as a prototype manufacturer.
Following the German marque's LMP1 withdrawal, Jarvis signed a full-season contract with the Bentley factory team for the upcoming Blancpain GT Series season.
In addition to his GT3 role, the three-time Le Mans podium finisher will join the LMP2 outfit run by Hollywood star Jackie Chan and Chinese/American racer David Cheng.
Jarvis is set to share the #38 car with Road to Le Mans LMP3 winner Thomas Laurent and Asian LMP3 champion Ho-Ping Tung, while the sister #37 entry will be co-driven by team boss Cheng, WEC LMP2 race winner Alex Brundle and former GP2 driver Tristan Gommendy.
“I’m so pleased to be able to join such a strong team as Jackie Chan DC Racing," said Jarvis.
"It will be nice to return to my WEC family and challenge for wins with Ho-Pin and Thomas."
"I must take this opportunity to thank Bentley Motorsport for allowing me to compete in the WEC alongside my GT commitments.”
Jackie Chan DC Racing ran with Signatech Alpine in 2016, but announced a new partnership with Jota in February.
The team finished ninth in its debut WEC season, with a highest result of fifth at the 6 Hours of Mexico.
“Coming off a years’ worth of experience in the WEC last season, we are really happy to be back this year with two full season cars," said Cheng.
"Together, boosted with experience of our new partnership I’m confident our Jackie Chan DC Racing/Jota Sport team will be challenging up front at Le Mans and all year for the title.”
Jackie Chan DC Racing will be present with both of its cars at the official WEC pre-season test, held at Monza on April 1-2.
