Ryan Hunter-Reay will remain with Andretti Autosport in the Verizon IndyCar Series until to the end of the 2020 season after a new deal was announced on Sunday.
Hunter-Reay has raced with Andretti in IndyCar since 2010, winning the series title in 2012 and the Indianapolis 500 in 2014, as well as claiming at least one victory in each season he has raced for the team so far.
On Sunday ahead of the 2016 season finale at Sonoma, Andretti announced that Hunter-Reay had put pen to paper on a new four-year deal, taking him to the end of 2020.
Hunter-Reay's previous contract had been due to expire at the end of 2017, leading to speculation that he could be set to move to either Penske or Chip Ganassi Racing.
The deal will see Hunter-Reay retain the DHL sponsorship that has adorned his car since 2011 until the end of the contract, entrenching the partnership as one of the longest-running and most iconic in IndyCar's modern era.
“I couldn’t be happier about this announcement and the opportunity to continue with Andretti Autosport as an ambassador for DHL,” Hunter-Reay said.
“These next four years will take us to nearly a decade-long relationship with DHL and a full 11 years with the team. We’ve won 13 races together, the Indy 500 and the IndyCar Championship and we’re going to do a lot more together.
"Over the years we have become more of a family than just a team and sponsor. I’m proud to represent this group and this brand and am looking forward to the milestones yet to come."
