Logan Sargeant says he is confident he will soon be able to grab his maiden points finish in Formula 1 after labelling the British Grand Prix as his best race so far.

Williams has taken a step forward in recent grands prix with Alex Albon driving the updated FW45 to seventh in Canada and eighth in Britain.

Williams has now moved up to seventh place in the Constructors’ Championship.

Sargeant secured his best result in Britain, taking 11th position, only four seconds behind Ferrari driver Carlos Sainz.

“It’s been a good two weekends back to back, we need to keep building on this,” said Sargeant.

“I feel like I’m starting to drive much better and much closer to the limit, and more just what the car needs.

“Everything is coming together, slowly but surely. If we keep building on this, we will eventually get in the points here soon. That’s our goal.”

Sargeant went on to praise team-mate Albon as well as the effort undertaken by an improving Williams outfit.

“I’m working as hard as I possibly can for the team, and they’re doing the same for me,” said Sargeant. “Everyone is motivated. We’re close to points every weekend, and Alex is scoring.

“He’s been driving phenomenal. Even when I do a good lap, it’s still a few tenths on the table. It’s tough at times. I feel that if you’re not pushed outside of your comfort zone, you never grow. I feel like he’s really been able to help me with that. I’ve come into this year, and seen what it takes. That’s shown me how hard I need to work to get to that level. Yeah.

“Slowly but surely, I’m getting there, that’s for sure. I just need to keep at it, and it will all come together.”
