Sebastian Vettel will get behind the wheel of his championship-winning 2011 Red Bull Formula 1 car again at the Red Bull Nurburgring festival later this year.

Red Bull teased earlier in the day on social media that Vettel, who retired from F1 at the end of 2022, would be present and it has now been confirmed he will be reunited with a show car version of the RB7 using E-fuels.

Alongside Vettel, Red Bull reserve driver Daniel Ricciardo will also participate in the event to be held on September 9th, which coincides with the Nurburgring 12 hours weekend. More drivers are expected to be announced at a later date.

The RB7 was the car in which Vettel delivered the second of four consecutive World Championships he won between 2010-13 whilst at Red Bull. The German registered 11 wins, 15 pole positions and accumulated 392 points across 19 rounds in 2011 to retain the title by a landslide margin.

The demonstration runs will mark the first time laps have been completed in an F1 car on the Nordschleife in over 10 years.

Before the 35-year-old hops back into the cockpit of a Red Bull, however, he will be taking the opportunity to drive two classic F1 cars from his collection at the Goodwood Festival of Speed next month.

Vettel will be driving both Nigel Mansell’s title-winning 1992 Williams FW14B and Ayrton Senna’s 1993 McLaren MP4/8, both using sustainable fuels.
