IndyCar qualifying around the tricky Detroit street course was an eventful affair, and it was Chip Ganassi Racing’s Alex Palou that ended up walking away with his second consecutive pole.

Scott McLaughlin was just a fraction of a second slower, and will start alongside Palou on the outside front row.
Overall, the session was not quite as damaging as practice had been, but it did claim its fair share of broken wheels and toe links as drivers pushed to the limit around the bumpy course.
Sunday’s race is already being compared to the first race at Nashville in 2021, so fans could be in for a lengthy race filled with plenty of carnage.
