Formula 1 fans may notice some changes in the broadcasting of the upcoming Monaco Grand Prix as F1 take the production of the race in-house for the first time, as reported by the Mirror.

TV coverage of the Monaco Grand Prix had previously been produced by Tele Monte Carlo, but a new deal with race organisers means that F1 will manage the ‘world feed’ for on-track action.

The news means that for the first time in the history of the sport, F1 is now responsible for the coverage of all races on the calendar.

Throughout the 2000s, F1 began to bring the production of many races in-house, with one team on-site in the paddock supported remotely by a team based at Biggin Hill.

Red Bull accused of F1 sandbagging by ‘turning down power’ in Bahrain

While other races allowed for the transition in production, Monaco remained the exception.

Tele Monte Carlo has been criticised in recent years for their direction of the event, including for an infamous call to cut away from a battle between Sebastian Vettel and Pierre Gasly to Lance Stroll cutting a chicane in 2021.

While fans can hope to expect better coverage of the Monaco GP in 2023, the move will have no effect on which channels and platforms will broadcast the event.
