Off the back of their most successful weekend of the season in Berlin, Maserati MSG hopes to build momentum for the second half of the season.

The team, formerly known as Venturi, heads to the home of Monaco Sports Group for this weekend’s Monaco ePrix, off the back of their first double points, finish and podium of Gen3 in Berlin.

With many team personnel based in Monaco year-round, the focus will be on ensuring they do not treat this weekend any differently and look to get the most out of it. Especially considering the team has never stepped onto the podium at this event in Formula E.

After leading the times in pre-season testing, Maserati has struggled to capitalise on the innate pace in their package, with other teams closing the gap during the Gen3 development race.

However, the team returned to that early form with a podium for Maximillian Gunther. With momentum being such a key aspect of motorsport, the German is looking to build on that success this weekend.

“Because I live in Monaco, this weekend feels like another home race for me and I’m looking forward to racing on the streets I call home.”

“It felt fantastic to finish on the podium in Berlin, and whilst I’m proud of that achievement my focus now is very much on the task at hand – making sure that we get the most out of the coming race weekend.”

“The team is in good shape, we are well prepared and we will try to build on the good momentum from the past races.”

Team Principal James Rossiter hopes the demons of past rounds are behind them and Maserati can continue to put points on the board and challenge at the front in the second half of the season.

James Rossiter, Team Principal, Maserati MSG Racing

“We’re heading home off the back of our most successful weekend of the season, which saw Max finish on the podium and the team achieve its first double points of the season.

“Motorsport is very momentum-driven, everyone is in good spirits, we need to maintain our energy, follow the process and hopefully deliver a clean weekend with another strong performance.”
