The FIA has shortened one of the three DRS zones available to drivers at this weekend’s Formula 1 Bahrain Grand Prix.

Per 2022’s event there will be three DRS zones around the 5.412km Bahrain International Circuit.

The first two are unchanged, with the first detection point 50 metres before Turn 1 and the activation point 23 metres after Turn 3.

The second detection point remains 10 metres before Turn 9 ahead of the activation point 50 metres after Turn 10.

The detection point for the final zone – along the pit straight – remains 110 metres before Turn 14 but the activation point has now been shifted further along the track.

It will now be 250 metres after Turn 15, having been 80 metres closer to the slight right-hand kink at 2022’s grand prix.

The tweak comes amid the FIA’s desire to alter the length of DRS zones following feedback from last year’s grands prix.
