F1 Academy has confirmed 17-year-old Alexia Danielsson as the series’ latest Wild Card entry for the penultimate Austin round next month.
The Swedish Driver will make her F1 Academy debut at COTA, representing the series’ Official Partner, TeamViewer. However, Danielsson is no stranger to the series’ machinery. The 17-year-old already took part in the Navarra Rookie Test earlier in the month, where she set the second-fastest overall time.
Throughout her career, Danielsson has competed in several Feeder Series competitions. In 2022, her journey began in Aquilia Formula 1000. Her two-year stint in the series saw her finish seventh in the championship, with a podium and a pole to her name. The Swede then moved up to the Nordic 4 championship for the 2024 and 2025 seasons. She also competed in the Porsche Sprint Challenge Scandinavia, winning on debut.
Ahead of her debut F1 Academy weekend, Danielsson has competed in the Formula 4 CEZ Championship. The rookie has already achieved five points-scoring finishes, with a best result of P6 in Race 2 at the Autodrom Most.
When reflecting on the Wild Card opportunity, Danielsson was ecstatic about taking a major step forward for her Motorsport dream.
“Racing at COTA in front of such a huge crowd, right in the middle of a Formula 1 weekend. It will be an experience I will never forget and something I can build on going forward.
“My main goal for the weekend is to learn as much as I possibly can. I’m also competing for a place on the grid for next season. So if I get that opportunity, I want to be as prepared as I can be. At Zandvoort, I saw how different their race weekends are from what I’m used to. There’s hardly any practice, for example, so you have to get up to speed really quickly.”
