Just weeks after the 2026 FIM Endurance World Championship season concluded in the South of France with the 89th edition of the Bol d’Or, championship organizers have revealed the calendar for the 2027 campaign.
Described by new promoter Claude Michy as a “stabilisation year” following his takeover in 2026, the 2027 season will feature the same four iconic venues as this year, focusing on consolidation and event quality.
EWC 2027 calendar breakdown
The 2027 campaign will kick off at Le Mans for the legendary 24 Heures Motos, scheduled a week earlier than this year’s edition, running from April 8–11.
From France, the paddock heads to Belgium for the 8 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps on June 4–5, maintaining its popular sprint-style endurance format on the fast Ardennes circuit.
The championship then heads overseas for the prestigious Suzuka 8 Hours in Japan, set for July 2–4. Suzuka remains a major draw for stars from other disciplines, particularly MotoGP. Honda’s Johann Zarco won the Japanese classic back-to-back in 2024 and 2025, while Yamaha’s Jack Miller fell just short of a Suzuka victory in both 2025 and 2026.
The 2027 edition has been specifically engineered around the MotoGP and WorldSBK calendars to ensure riders can continue to make crossover appearances.
“Superbike riders could come and do one-off appearances,” Michy told Motorsport Week at Spa earlier this season.
As has been the custom since 2022, the championship will conclude with its second 24-hour marathon, the 90th edition of the Bol d’Or at Circuit Paul Ricard.
Fifth round target for 2028
While speculation surrounding an immediate fifth race can now be laid to rest for 2027, expansion remains firmly on the horizon for 2028.
“We’ve opened talks with venues like Barcelona, Valencia, and a few others,” Michy explained regarding future growth. “When you have a grid of 50 entries, you need the space and infrastructure to back it up. We may need to look at circuits in European countries that don’t currently host MotoGP, allowing EWC to build its own distinct presence while utilising top-tier facilities.”
Should a fifth event join the schedule in 2028, Michy indicated it would likely adopt an 8-hour or 12-hour format, noting that a 12-hour distance offers a sweet spot by awarding extra championship points.
