With just two hours remaining at the 89th Bol d’Or, the #37 BMW Motorrad World Endurance Team is closing in on both race victory and the 2026 FIM EWC World Championship title.

While the order at the very front remains unchanged, with the #37 BMW Motorrad World Endurance Team leading the #12 Yoshimura SERT Suzuki, the late-race surprise came from the #5 F.C.C. TSR Honda France.

John McPhee’s crash at 11:30 a.m. shattered Honda’s podium hopes in this 2026 Bol d’Or, forcing an 11-minute pit stop for repairs that dropped the #5 Honda to fourth position.

The #1 YART Yamaha capitalised on the blunder, inheriting third place.

However, holding P3 is still not enough for YART to defend their crown, as the #37 BMW currently holds a four-point advantage over Suzuki in the virtual standings to secure the world title.

Further back, the #11 Webike Trickstar Kawasaki suffered a pit stop delay that saw them rejoin in ninth, but their rivals on the #99 Team Elf KM99 Yamaha suffered a devastating engine failure, leaving mechanics scrambling in the garage as their hopes evaporated.

Meanwhile, the #6 ERC Endurance BMW became the latest high-profile casualty, forced into retirement with under three hours remaining.
