Takamoto Katsuta’s horror run of back luck continued on WRC Rally Chile when the Japanese double-WRC rally winner this year, spun in muddy conditions on the opening stage and beached his Toyota GR Yaris. There were no spectators on hand to help the crew regain the road.
Katsuta, teamed with stand-in co-driver James Fulton looked to be on the money after setting the fastest time in yesterday’s shakedown.
Oliver Solberg took the lead after winning SS1, but Elfyn Evans struck back in stage two, and leads the rally by 0.4 seconds.
