Dreyer and Reinbold Racing will compete with Conor Daly behind the wheel starting next year for the 2027 NTT IndyCar Series season.

Daly has raced with DRR multiple times in the past, working with the team on one of their Indianapolis 500 entries.

The Indy 500 he contested this season was his only one of the year, having lost his full time ride at the end of 2025.

He has now signed a multi-year deal with the team, his first long-term agreement in his long IndyCar tenure.

Dreyer and Reinbold previously announced that it had purchased a charter from Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing, and planned to go back to racing full time next season.

With the announcement over the weekend, more details about the team’s plans for next season came to light.

“I’m super pumped,” said Daly. “They already compete at an extremely high level, if not the highest level, at the Indy 500. We’ve seen that.

“I’ve been very fortunate to drive their cars at the Indy 500, which is really cool.

“To be here with Honda, as well. I want to thank Chevy for all the years of being with them. I’ve never really been in a position to develop a super loyalty to one manufacturer because I’ve driven for everybody, obviously.

“Everyone has been really nice to me, whether that’s Chevy or Honda. The last season I did with Honda was my rookie year in 2016, which is absurd. I didn’t know that.

“They’ve been nice to me when I’ve had to substitute for other drivers. Being part of that organization is really cool.

“I’m really pumped. This is a huge deal for me. To have a multi-year deal is something I’m extremely grateful for. First time in my life. Going to be fun.”

Big changes

Dreyer and Reinbold Racing is working on making one of the biggest changes of its long history.

The team’s founder and owner Dennis Reinbold passed away earlier this year, but he had already set in motion plans to expand the team into a full time competitor.

With IndyCar’s new charter system in place, it had to purchase one from RLL in order to secure a place on the grid outside the Indy 500.

An unexpected piece from the announcement was that the #24 entry will be powered by Honda engines.

Dreyer and Reinbold has consistently competed with Chevy power since 2012, and the conversion will give the team a new set of procedures to learn for next season.

Having Daly onboard as a driver will bring a hefty dose of experience and consistency, which will help navigate the new challenges.

DRR will take the grid beginning at the season opening round from the streets of St. Petersburg in March of next year, an event the team last contested in 2013.
