IndyCar took to the track Saturday morning for the second practice of the season finale weekend.

Originally scheduled to start at 10:00 AM pacific time, the session was delayed for track repairs.

A large crash in one of the weekend’s support series did significant damage to the fencing at the top of the Corkscrew just before IndyCar was set to take to the track.

Repairs delayed running by over an hour, and IndyCar’s session was cut short in order to keep the rest of the day on schedule.

With only 30 minutes of running to get his lap in, it was Scott McLaughlin that was quickest of the session.

His lap of 1:10.3014 was a quarter of a second quicker than anyone else in the field, showing an impressive performance for the Team Penske driver.

Felix Rosenqvist was second quick, followed closely by the fastest driver of the first practice session Alex Palou.

Palou has already clinched the championship, but he is showing his usual pace in the early portion of the weekend.

David Malukas was fourth fastest, and Will Power rounded out the top five.

Power took a ride through the gravel at one point during the session, but managed to keep his #26 Andretti Honda pointing the right direction and out of the wall.

Drivers will be back on track at 1:30 PM PT for qualifying, as long as the schedule is run as planned.
