UPDATE: Rain has continued through the morning hours in Milwaukee. Race 1 will resume at 5:00 PM CT after the conclusion of Race 2, which is still on time.
The final portion of the first race of IndyCar’s double-header from Milwaukee will be run on Sunday.
After 90 laps of the 250-lap race were run, rain moved into the area and brought out the red flag.
Initially, the series had hoped to wait out the inclement weather and finish the remainder of the event on Saturday evening.
But the rain persisted longer than planned and, with no lights at the Milwaukee Mile, IndyCar officials were forced to postpone the rest of the event.
The race will resume at 8:00 AM central time with a cutoff time of approximately 9:25 AM. If rain prevents an 8:00 start time, then the remainder of Race 1 would be run in the afternoon instead, after Race 2.
The second race of the double-header weekend is expected to take place in full on Sunday, and will begin at noon central time.
