An early preview of CPRL’s British Touring Car Championship livery has been unveiled, as the team continues absent of Jason Plato and its former identity.

Plato Racing Ltd entered administration just days after the team scored its first victory at Knockhill, with Cataclean calling in joint administrators on August 12th.

Since then, sale documents have revealed that the team lost £835,097 since its inception.

Despite widespread concern among BTCC fans that the outfit would be forced to pull out, statements issued on August 18th confirmed the team will continue competing in the championship.

“Cataclean will provide interim funding for CPRL to continue while the future of the team is confirmed,” a Cataclean spokesperson said.

In a separate statement, TOCA confirmed receiving assurances over the squad’s future participation in the BTCC, noting that the team will continue forward without Jason Plato’s involvement.

“TOCA confirms the team will continue competing in the 2026 Kwik Fit British Touring Car Championship under a new name and management structure, in order that it can move positively forward.

“TOCA has been provided with assurances of the team’s participation in the BTCC going forward.”

Eagle-eyed fans spotted that Plato Racing’s listing on the BTCC’s website had already updated to its new name, with the team’s striking purple branding stripped to black.

Though subject to change by the time the team arrives at Donington Park, Motorsport Week understands that the all-black livery is an accurate representation of the new-look CPRL outfit.

Dan Rowbottom and Adam Morgan will also debut new looks, swapping the previous Plato purple for black race suits.

Alongside the change in look, Dave Kelly has made the step to team principal, replacing Plato.
